Make no mistake, most GOP leaders have long ago been vaccinated. However, they are scared of their base and their base has latched onto Covid being 1) a hoax 2) not severe 3) a liberal scam 4) who fucking knows. Because of this, they will not push vaccines and allow FOX and company to drive their base into a bad situation. They will not shutdown, they will not quarantine. They will let them get hospitalized and die. Since 99% or so survive, the assumption is the survivors will assume Covid is survivable and the dead ones tell no tales. Of course such strategies in the past have shown to produce the worst economic outcomes. But they don't care because their base is delusional. They are frankly scared of their base. They need them, they abuse them, they use them, but they fear them to no end.
