"Progressive" = someone who thinks Teddy Roosevelt/FDR/LBJ were anti-capitalist democratic socialists and that Bernie Sanders was the only one continuing that legacy, that the Democratic establishment are hopelessly corrupt elites with the same economic policies as Republicans and despise working and middle classes. Anti-establishment with the establishment being the Democratic Party as the true roadblock to progress. Us (pure, righteous) vs Them (corrupt, evil, immoral).
They really should've called themselves neoprogressives, less confusing. If was fashionable for a while, but as you say, why Nina sticks out like a bitter sore thumb.
