(25,918 posts)51. I am on Medicare and Walmart billed mine.
I hate Walmart but it was the first place I could get in to get the vaccine back in Feb. They did bill Medicare, don't remember the exact amount on the EOB but it was around the amounts you mentioned. They did the job when other places wouldn't, so I am totally ok with them being paid. Hubs got his at Walgreens and they didn't bill his insurance. The large state places did bill Medicare for my sisters' vaccinations, so there's a lot of variability.

I don't know but what I think is they charge Medicare or VA or insurance a higher amount

I also attended a mass "drive-through" vaccination event. No insurance necessary.

Although the vaccines are free, the govt will bill insurance to defray the cost.
