As you pointed out, remember when people couldn't snark enough about Al Gore losing his home state? Although given how the Republican party doesn't seem to care any more about flip flopping (which was horrible when Kerry supposedly did it), and draft dodging (horrible for Clinton, not so for Bush), and bullying, condescending debate tactics (again, bad when Gore supposedly did it, but great for Mitt), consistency isn't something I'd count on from any of them.
