6. Ah, the "everyone does it" excuse

I happen to agree with you that the chances of it being shut down are nil. They are too big, too powerful, too entitled and too many powerful people depend on the BBC both for flattering coverage and financial support. So it is not going anywhere.

But if it exists under a Royal Charter (and why that should be respected is another story) then a Royal can revoke that Charter, no?
