Why is Mitt Romney so unpopular in his home state of Massachusetts?

I'm a union guy. i worked on legislation in the Mass. legislature, mostly the expanded gaming bill.

Initially, Romney was in favor of putting slot machines at the racetracks, one of which I work at and represent. In 2007, when he was trying to get the Evangelical vote in Iowa, he was asked about expanded gambling in Massachusetts. It seems that the right wing, Christian Coalition is dead set against expanded gambling. Mitt changed his mind and promised to veto any such legislation.

Mitt ran in 2002 as a blank slate. My father, who worked for Ed Brooke in the 60's and 70's was a fan of George Romney. George was very moderate and a supporter of civil rights. I didn't support Mitt Romney in 2002, as I am a Democrat and a union guy, but I didn't think at the time, he'd be so bad. I thought he'd govern as most of the moderate Republicans had in the past, Volpe, Sargent, Weld and that Mitt Romney held beliefs like my dad's friend Ed Brooke and his dad, George Romney.

As it turns out, Mitt was a fraud, a liar, an opportunist and someone who can't be trusted on his word, ever.

Mitt Romney will be the worst President since James Buchanan if he is ever elected.

God, please save us from this man.
