(443 posts)That one needs an emergency that everyone can rally around in order to break down silos in a organization. What have here in the US is two big silos with loads of little compartments in each one. The R's have manufactured crisis after crisis in order to breakdown the little divisions in their silo. The Ds have not been as successful in breaking down their internal silos. That said now the executive branch has to figure out how to breakdown the 2 big silos.
So yes I think an Alien invasion would probably unite the country, for a little while anyway.
But on a serious note the Infrastructure bill should be a means to do that, as everyone sees that problem. The problem as I see it is that the Rs will do anything to try and prevent Biden from getting a big win so the politicians have no interest in solving the problem. I think Biden is doing the right thing with infrastructure and COVID and maybe slowly he can unite us around some common causes.
