There is so much that they don't know about this virus and what the long term effects will be since it's only been around (in various iterations) for going on 2 years.
It almost sounds like a case of what is called (for that age of 23, which is an over 20) "MIS-A" = "Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Adults" -
