My guess is that Maher manipulates viewers using the same old playbook that churns out just enough good ole' red meat bait to wet the appetite of progressives, hooking them with a "funny" signifying he's in agreement, and then bang!

He's captured enough eyes and ears to keep them coming back for more and keep his ratings up enough from being cancelled. That's how the game works, and in Maher's case, he swings "both ways" plays on the full spectrum.

How can he not lose?

I think our culture loses, but that ship sailed a long tome ago.
