I'm being semi-facetious here, but I think there's some truth to this, that there is a type of man who lacks self-confidence such that he is apt to be intimidated by a grown woman with a mind of her own. Such an individual will sometimes be drawn toward young teenage girls, because he finds them to be less threatening and more easily dominated.

I've watched a lot of those To Catch a Predator shows and that's how a lot of those guys struck me, as guys who went after teenagers because they couldn't hack it with grown women. They weren't necessarily attracted to "children" per se, but to girls who were old enough to have the physical characteristics of women but young enough to be very inexperienced and easily impressed by an "older man" being interested in them. 😬
