(9,173 posts)27. Every day, nurses face the possibility of needle sticks, picking up
a superbug, etc. I had both happen to me. A needle stick from a patient with Hepatitis C, into my hand at the base of my thumb when I was putting a used insulin syringe into the sharps box. Had to go through a whole protocol for that. I was lucky it was a tiny insulin needle and it didn't go in very far. Also picked up some kind of horrific bacteria on my stethoscope earpiece that created an infection and cellulitis that spread across my face and down my neck, I was a pretty sick (and hideous-looking) pup and needed serious antibiotics. This vaccine is NOTHING compared to the health dangers that medical workers routinely face, they're just weirdly fixated on it.
