endogamy is where everyone in a population is related to everyone else, usually multiple times over; inbreeding is where someone has multiple instances of cousin marriages in their ancestry. My grandfather was from in Louisville; his ancestors were largely Catholics who moved west to Kentucky from Maryland between 1785 and 1800. Those Catholic pioneers and their desdendants are highly endogamous (I am usually related to someone I share that ancestry with about 12 different ways, mostly through common ancestors in the 1600's-1700's) but not very inbred (because they're all Catholic, and you need a dispensation to marry a first or second cousin).
