You don't understand the need to diminish everything she says. But not everyone diminishes what she says. The OP praises her for saying it. Nobody was talking about her until the OP brought it up.

Given that it is a discussion board, someone might disagree with praising her for it.

If someone posted an OP diminishing her for it, then maybe you'd think it unfair to satisfy the need to praise her for it by posting a disagreement?
