Showing Original Post only (View all)Well... that makes TWO covid deaths in my extended family in a single week. [View all]
Please do NOT offer condolences. 1) I'd never met them; 2) they were by-marriage relatives; and 3) both deaths were anti-vax idiots. Until this week I knew of nobody in my immediate or extended family who had contracted covid. Now, just like that... zap-zap... TWO are dead.
One lived in Central Florida, and the other lived in Central Georgia... both wore red hats and had red necks (you know, from being in the sun too much) and both were delusional that "Jesus would protect them" and they were "leaving it all up to God". One in her late 50's one in his late 60's... both healthy, until.
As I read the words of sympathy on their FB pages... the messages definitely have a fundamentalist flavor or aroma about them. "God needed another angel for the choir." --- "Glory be to God, she's out of pain." --- "God is good." --- "He's having a beer with Jesus." (Ugh! Seriously?)
Nevertheless, it's certainly a strong reminder and warning-shot to other family members within who know them (or, KNEW them) that things are getting worse and Jesus is NOT going to protect you.
