28. Free Trade leads to Democracy

Opening up countries for trade is what spreads Democracy the best, always has been that way. Nothing puts more pressure on oppressive governments than business leaders and a population getting a taste of modern life through trade.

So, the US can put more pressure on countries like Afghanistan through diplomacy and trade than they ever could at the point of a gun.
