47. That's another way of say "Every woman has the right to choose"

The Democratic Party has never been pro-abortion, but we do believe that every woman has the right to choose whether she will be a parent or not. Men have an easy choice, they can just walk away. This isn't about men's choices though.

Our party speaks up for those who can't speak for themselves, and in this case it's women. Not all women, but the poor, the unfortunate, the hopeless, those who lack good healthcare, and those who can't afford to give up their jobs to be a full-time parent. Roe v. Wade was about an unfortunate woman who was raped by several men, and none of them took responsibility for their despicable actions. So as a nation we've gone beyond that ruling, and it's time for federal laws to be passed. We need to make each woman's right to choose the law for everyone.

Whether you or I ever get an abortion is beside the point. It must be an available option for the women who do need it.
