It's like a Law and Order episode only it's real etc.
Look at OJ..
The media likes cases that can be "wrapped up".
Consumers like to feel that the "bad person got punished".
I know the case of missing Haleigh Cummings dragged on and on with a cast of Florida redneck, drug using inbreds, then it just got depressing and coverage stopped. Haleigh was a 5 year old girl who disappeared from bedroom in 2009. She has never been found. Her dad was at work and his 16 yo GF was babysitting her in their rural Florida trailer.
Both dad and GF are currently in prison for drugs.
