We are at a cultural crossing point. "And you shall have dominion over the Earth," has led to a few issues. So yes. I suspect religions, not just Mormonism, or Christianity or Judaism, or for that matter Buddhism (in particular the conservative factions off) are in for a crisis or two.
If we survive as a species, I suspect the transformation will be as dramatic as it was in the Bronze Age when female creation myths were replaced by Male Creation Myths. In historic terms it will be just as sudden. That one took we think, about 500 years. This one I suspect will take two to three generations tops.
