I'm pretty sure that even though they mouth the name of Christ and claim him as their redeemer, they're really worshiping Mammon, a deity that welcomes "all" and does not seem to care what it is called, so long as they do whatever they need to get closer to it and sacrifice their humanity and fellow humans to the pursuit of it.
