(16 posts)He did have a very serious concussion after the 1968 car accident. It is possible that he is developing dementia/Alzheimer's.
Please check out this link for the signs and symptoms.

*He is very "manic" in some of his speeches.
*He is very disorganized in his speaking.
*He angers easily and becomes verbally aggressive with little provocation.
*He can't seem to remember his own policies.
I've seen this behavior before when I worked as a nursing assistant, long term adult care.
The symptoms may not be related to his head trauma, but it does make it more likely for him to develop dementia as he gets older.
Another thing to consider is that after each debate and the RNC, he has taken a "break". No campaigning, no appearances.
I thought at first it might be to give his wife a break (Ann has MS and may need some downtime of her own), but in conjunction with the symptoms of dementia it makes sense. Conventions and debates are extremely stressful and can trigger more extreme/obvious signs of dementia.
