6. Why doesn't the former guy just go away?

Instead, he feels the need to insert himself into the national conversation over and over again, and stir up his gullible and ill-informed followers with more lies and half-truths. Not to mention fomenting insurrection and advocating for the violent overthrow of the government. Some folks who believe in the Constitution take that kind of shit seriously.
