This post is for all of you who dislike Facebook:
I consider it a valuable part of my online life. Obviously, DU is home, but FB is second.
Why?
My family is there.
Many of my real-life friends are there.
My poetry companions are there.
My photography friends are there.
My political friends are there.
We all talk and share regularly, both on and off FB.
Many of the photos I post here, I also post there, since the overlap of people I know is not large.
It's really annoying to me to read all the negative stuff about the site. I avoid those negative places like the plague.
I keep my timeline "friends only" and private.
It's been a great place for me. I can't help it if it's been less useful to others.
ALSO, and this is really important, I never play the games where they are trying to phish for data.
So just be aware that there more than a few people here who value Facebook. And obviously, that includes me.
