We do not have the infrastructure for electric cars here. Very few charging stations. A couple just went in on the street in Park Slope. Some at Whole Foods. But, despite that, since this summer, I've seen more and more and more Tesla's on the road. They're almost as common as the Subaru here. lol.

WHY? Status symbol mixed with a feeling that you're doing good for the environment.

Nobody cares about Elon Musk being a total asshole.

We are in one of the most liberal enclaves here in BK, and people just don't care that he's moving his company to Texas despite the abortion rights struggle.

I'm stating reality. I don't agree with that position. I hate Musk, and if I had to buy an electric car, it would be a Prius. (Though I'm sure Honda has some problematic behaviors.)

Luckily in NYC you don't NEED a car for transportation. (Though traffic is worse than ever and there are more than ever on the road.... that's a whole other topic.)
