RIP, INDEED, ANDY STEPHENSON!
I wonder how many DUers still remember the constant barrage that the voting machines' crimes received in the early days of DU and with very little help from our exalted Country's leaders?
I have a friend who was always working the elections in our state, who piously informed me that those machines just couldn't be tampered with. She was sure that because she was there that nothing happened. I even tried to explain how many ways our votes could be tampered with. She was blind and still is.
This effort will be put down, as is usual, as Dems going wild and will, unfortunately, get nowhere. Ignorance is killing this country, and we should probably be more concerned at the dastardly dumbing down of our education system. Critical Thinking is a has been in most of our high schools and colleges. Our school boards have been taken over by Republicans or people pretending to be otherwise, in most of the country.
How can we make inroads when ignorance abounds? There are too many people who do not understand the importance of education. Only a small percentage of young people that I know have any curiosity about the true situation in this country today. They go and play on their computers, phones, game boxes and kindles, and ignore the country's deterioration.
In this country we spend an inordinate amount of time watching TV, either footballs or zombies, but give no time or very little time to the crisis going on around us. I cannot even engage my grown daughters, who are very smart, in a conversation about the political future of their own country. You see, they are too smart. They believe with their superior world, that nothing is happening that is important as long as they have their electronic toys.
I wish I were more optimistic about the future of our country; but, I just don't see it changing. The vast majority of the people I know, relatives and friends, are blinded by the right.
