11. Wow. I worried about my mom's house after she fell and broke her ankle.

She went to the nursing home for what we hoped would be a few months recovery, but problems continued to stack up until she died several months after the fall. I live five hours away and was going there every 2-3 weeks, checking on her and dealing with the house. On the one hand, it's a small town with a low crime rate. On the other hand, it's a small town and a lot of people knew that the lady who had been living in that house was now in the nursing home and nobody else was staying in the house. It was always undisturbed every time I arrived, thank goodness, but once I dug into Mom's finances I did wonder if there was more cash in her purse before her ambulance ride to the hospital half an hour away.
