In reply to the discussion: This is Tina Forte, who is challenging AOC for her seat. Seems like she would be a downgrade. [View all]Hortensis

though who gets what proportion of their vote each GE values. The election I remember data for this small demographic that claimed to support a Democrat in the primary at least showed that in the GE @12% voted for tRump, 2% didn't vote, and the rest voted third party. Researchers went back to the same people the next time, and they were again eager to promise they wouldn't vote for any of the Democratic candidates if their candidate didn't win the primary, don't know how they voted in the end. It's been a while, but you can find reports if you look. And with the 2022 midterms coming up, at some point someone will interview some of the more public figures or groups and quote their intentions. Not big news, but with margins as narrow as they are it'll show up in political reporting.
Should point out that the candidates they decide to award their passionate support to didn't create this small demo within the hostile left. They've always been around, with the usual age replacement over the decades. Their type voted Nader to save America from Gore, for instance. Each election they declare the same values and goals as liberals do (but far better!) Some hope to be able to vote Democratic if we produce a candidate who isn't a corporatist warmonger practically as bad as the Republicans, but apparently we never do.
Those people, bless their noisy little hearts. Underlining that under half were so disappointed that they voted tRump/GOP, but that is what we're talking about and some did identify, or had, as Democrats.
A lot of the far-left noise was a call for Democrats to abandon the party or at least refuse to vote, so look for that again, for 2024 anyway. Midterm elections don't offer the same chance to hope for a great leader and be disappointed, of course, but you can be sure they, and the hostiles with big pockets who promote them, will be out noisy in force for 2024. It's going to be an existential election and a chance for spoilers, and those who use them, to make them felt again.
