Had Langevelde voted to make a 2-2 tie, Michigan would not have gone into Biden's totals. Then Wisconsin and Pennsylvania would likely have folded for Trump. Langevelde prevented this momentum. Trump's team knew how vital this was, which is why they worked so hard on MI.

"With the other Republican on the board abstaining from Monday's vote to certify the presidential election in Michigan—a maneuver that Trump's legal team and state Republican officials were hoping would keep the outcome of the election an open question—Van Langevelde did the right thing.
