blew up in Havana Harbor because some idiots were smoking in the powder room. Their idiocy earned them a fast ride to oblivion. Unfortunately, a whole lot of the crew who had no culpability in the event took the ride with them.

Ol' Harry Harlow (famed monkey psychologist) used to say that humanity is barely smart enough to keep society running.

Harlow was a hopeless optimist.
