7. Anyone who thinks being a parent is a prerequisite for teaching kids is beyond clueless.

According to him, I guess all those unchilded young people graduating from college with teaching degrees should not be looking for a job in their field, because none of them are actually qualified to be teachers. Even though no state has ever included parenthood on the list of requirements for teacher certification.

Wow. Better get the word out, Tom, because that's going to be news to a whole lot of people, including every education major I knew in college! Be sure and notify every school board in the country that they need to get busy firing all teachers who aren't parents and hiring new ones who have kids. Do you plan to make an exception for all those who have either a baby on the way or an adoption application in the works by a certain date? Please advise asap, as this is going to be a major undertaking!
