It took me a bunch of googling various N latitudes but I finally found a good map of the 40th N lattitude which went all across North America into Europe etc.
NYC is just a touch north of exactly 40° where I am. 👍

And, yeah, I see what you mean about much of Europe being more northern than we USA'rs think!
