In reply to the discussion: The incessant "We're going to lose" "if the election were held today" threads are trolling... [View all]bearsfootball516
(6,734 posts)9. Because it's true. That doesn't mean we can't fix problems and win in 2022.
But Tuesday night was a huge reality check. Ive seen a lot of Why cant you just be happy we won NJ, that bucked the traditional norm!
Because NJ is getting more and more blue. Holding onto the Governors seat there is expected now, its the absolute minimum. He lost 12-13 points off his 2017 win. Bidens approval is in the low 40s. People can ignore it at the own peril, but if things are similar next November to what happened Tuesday night, its going to be very ugly for us.
Let it serve as a wake up call, not a demoralization. We can still win next year, and lets use these lessons we just learned to get there.

Knowing that Russia and other trolls are trying to do the same does give one pause to see DUers

Some who are anxious are motivated to work harder, but others "shut down" and essentially give up.

I remember when many of us were called "concerned" during the 2016 election.

Comey's October surprise (lie) was a big part of that, though it was the self-identified progressive

Not fair. Worrying is not trolling; even as we win one, big picture issues are still at work.

You are correct. Remember, beliefs precede experience. With our thoughts we make this world.
