If I could be permitted a slight indulgence, the initial crap responses didn't surprise me. The general level of discourse on DU is pretty low. But these are my fellow democrats. It is what it is. But I am pleased that the later ones demonstrated that people are giving the OP some thought. I confess I did take a course in college about government's relationship to the press. It made me read media in a different way: All to often stories that are blamed on media malevolence are in fact ways various entities have of trying to sell a narrative. The press gets used a lot. So I was trying to make that point as well as convey my thoughts about a President that I deeply care about.
