3. I wasn't alive when this happened

My mother was in grade school when it happened. When the class was told she ran out of the room screaming. Her teacher found her in the restroom throwing up and in hysterics. The teacher got a sub to watch her class while she drove my mom home. My grandfather was working and my grandmother didn't drive. My grandmother had heard about it while at her hair appointment. She'd been planning to go to a restaurant with her family to celebrate her birthday. Needless to say that didn't happen. She was home when the teacher dropped my mom off. They and the rest of the family watched the coverage non stop all weekend. Mom would always cry on the anniversary as if it'd just happened.
