5. I remember the wooden paddles

Even if you didn't get the paddle, you could be traumatized by other forms of corporal punishment that was used. Believe it or not, there was a nun who kept a large jar of "worm medicine" on the bookcase in the classroom. One day an unfortunate student received the "treatment" and she upchucked it all over the floor. Swimming amongst the "worms" was my brand new faux alligator skin pencil case.
