Unusual occurrence with the after Thanksgiving food fixings this year.

Along with the other left-over rituals I have a long habit of performing in the aftermath of the main offering. I make a dump soup with, well, almost everything I find left in the fridge a couple of days later. (Except, the apple cider... I made that mistake once. Never again.)

Normally, after a night in the cooler, the soup forms a layer of separated fat (most of it from the turkey) in a white lens on top of the container. If it seems thick, I will break out some. A nifty way to reduce the soup's fat content for the waist conscious.

This year, no lens. Not even a hint of a lens. It was all pectin gel. That was the leanest turkey I've ever cooked the goose of. It must've been a supermodel turkey. Weird.

While I ponder this, I'd like to wish everyone a well deserved and earned peaceful holiday season.

Thanks again, Cap.
