I would say the general effect is minimal as none of the races are really that close that a few "switched" votes are going to alter the result.

2016 was a big fractured primary for the GOP. They had 17 people running and the split votes gives Trump the upper hand because they had a winner take all delegate system. So Trump was able to take all the delegates and build up an lead that no one can catch up later by only getting 30% of the votes in the early primaries. But I doubt any of those states is close enough where a few "switched democrats" can change the primary result.

With Trump remaining popular within the GOP, I doubt anyone will come close to taking the nomination away from Trump (barring any indictment) if Trump were going to run.
