He knows he would lose in 2022, due to redistricting in California. Personally, I think he would lose even without that. He knows that, so he is taking a job with the Trumpists. Otherwise, he would be unemployable, it seems to me.

I see this as an optimistic thing for the 2022 election and the 2024 election. I believe the January 6 committee is going to blow the lid off the conspiracy and put all the hard-core Trumpers in an untenable position.

Timing will matter, as will Democrats finding candidates in swing districts who can convince the voters in those districts that they are a better choice than some rabid Trumper. The committee needs to issue its report in the Summer of 2022, far enough ahead of the election to make that the story of the rest of the year.

I believe that will happen.
