(9,173 posts)44. Trying to rope everyone's dead white European relatives into a shared lasso of
racial blame and guilt--merely for immigrating and living here--is dumb and unproductive. I wasn't taught racial prejudice, not by my parents or by my grandparents. They didn't have any particular beef with any group of people. Their names are the same as from the Old Country--they weren't ashamed of themselves, and they didn't allow anyone to change their names. So, that's not my heritage, and I won't claim it.
