The profit margins on standard incandescent bulbs evaporated long ago.
No company was going to retool their lines to back to making bulbs at a penny of profit, each.
Besides, most consumers liked the long life of the alternatives.
So, narrowing margins and very unlikely to see significant market growth.
Of course, a businessman who never understood how to actually make a profit wouldn't understand that.
