14. HAHA yes, you summed up the show

pretty well, that's why I gave up watching it. They have to spend days and weeks working to come up with 10 minutes of excitement, so they just fill in the hour with "OMG we found a nail!"
The story itself is quite fascinating though. I won't go so far as to insist there is treasure buried there, but there almost certainly seems to be something. I've always insisted that had I found treasure there 100 years ago, there's no way in hell I'd every tell anyone about it, so who knows if there is even anything left there.
One part of the story from the show is of a black guy and freed slave who moved up there and bought a few plots on that island to farm cabbage, and he ultimately died as the richest guy in that region when he was old. I'm not so sure you get that rich selling cabbage, so yea, fill in the blanks I suppose.
