In reply to the discussion: Oprah Winfrey is as much a fraud as the ones she brought into the spotlight. [View all]Jakes Progress
(11,213 posts)I'm not a fan, but this pure slavering nastiness is telling. This is the kind of mindless hate the republicans dish for Hillary. Oprah has a lot of money, and she gives a lot of it to good causes. Though not an intellectual or a good judge of character, she just puts on a show. Let's not put Phil on a pedestal either. He did crap to get ratings a lot. Sure, we liked his politics, but he wasn't any better a judge of the times than Oprah. (Nader?)
Is the OP saying if I wanted to give him a new Chevy, that I would be a fraud and charlatan because I didn't pay the insurance on the car? Notice she didn't endorse oz for senate. In a democracy the states do decide.
If you don't like her, just don't watch her. Nobody is foisting her on you. Learn to use the remote.
Reading the thread, I see a lot of the language and vitriol reserved for women, especially for women of color. My mother always said when I reveal who I hate, it tells people more about me than the person I don't like.
As I said. I don't watch her, but I'm not jealous about it. I just don't watch.
(Oh, but she was terrific in The Color Purple.)
