Under the "deferred prosecution" agreement, the defendants agreed to perform community service and to meet other conditions, including six months supervision by Pretrial Services. A long list of folks had to sign off on this plea deal, including Pretrial Services and the acting US Attorney and, of course, the judge (an Obama appointee).

Apparently the defendants met the conditions of the deal and thus, pursuant to the agreement, the prosecution was dropped.
