With massive Dem turnout, they simply can't go full on Stalin without causing a massive stink. In my mind, don't look at the 2020 turnout %'s as a model for 2022. I stand by my prediction that without Donnie Dumbass on the ballot, most of the "rarely if ever vote" magats who inflated Republican numbers in 2016 and 2020 will even turn out. Their allegiance is to Donnie Dumbass, not the Republican Party. They dislike them only moderately less than Dems. If the Democratic Party gets its collective shit together, we can turn the tide and overwhelm the "always vote" Republicans, i.e. mostly older, white people. We've done it before.

I wonder how many of those "always vote" Republicans are left after 2 years of covid? That would be an interesting study. Shave a few percentages here and there due to covid mortality and things might be quite different than prior mid terms.
