88. My husband and I were building in Panama

as a response to Bush being reelected in 2004. We had looked at Belize first. Sold the house at Red Frog Beach in Bocas when Obama was elected and our house here burned down. I had an entire 2 BR house in storage ready to ship to Panama, but used it to furnish a rental after the fire. We thought Obama would be the end of the descent into fascism, but then TFG accelerated it

In 2015 we almost bought a place on Bonaire, but my husband backed out. Now he's dead, I'm 70, and I just can't see moving abroad by myself at this point. My oldest son is talking about Canada, waiting to see what the midterms bring. I told him that if he and his partner go, plan to sponsor me. My father's family came from Canada and I believe there are still relatives there, but haven't been contacted for 60 years.
