Should Dems trade leniency for legislation? [View all]

Would you be in favor of Democrats using potential criminal charges against Republicans in the 1/6 insurrection as leverage in order to get 60 votes on voting rights and Build Back Better Legislation passed?

We do know that are more than 300 Republican congresspeople, White House cabinet aids and staff were involved in the planning and coordination in the insurrection but we are not certain that everyone involved will be charged or even investigated. Just an investigation into their actions could be damaging. But in the event that is a great possibility of criminality should Democrats show leniency in various levels exchange for passage of Legislation, especially now that Sinema has blocked all hopes?
I am not suggesting a clean slate by no means only SOME LENIENCY.
Would you do it?
