6. The problem with this argument is...

...it assumes there actually ARE criminal charges against Republicans (presumably in Congress). That has yet to be shown ("we know they're guilty" doesn't count)

...it's flagrantly illegal. Criminal charges are disposed of in Court.

...it assumes that DOJ can be directed to withhold criminal charges in favor of legislative votes (also flagrantly illegal).

People seem to be desperately clawing at any solution.
