(9,780 posts)Are you saying Bernie tweets populist stuff but then votes the opposite way to maintain his own wealth? If he said all this but then in fact voted to cut his own taxes, keep worker wages low and deregulate business in which he owns stock etc etc, then you would have a point. However, that's just not the case.
Also, I'm not sure how he goes about raising taxes on the wealthy and raising minimum wage for workers as a single member on Congress when at least a majority of the other members are being given lots of campaign contributions to NOT do any of that. At this point, I think he knows he's not ever going to be able to effectively fight income inequality but is still trying to raise awareness and change public opinion so that others will pick up the mantle.
