In reply to the discussion: Tucker Carlson Viewers Want U.S. to Side with Russia [View all]Eyeball_Kid
(7,604 posts)I read this yesterday or early this morning. There's a way to understand it that makes sense.
First, this is no journalism story. This is a rumor. A Congressperson is getting calls about siding with Russia. How many calls? Who called? What exactly was said among all of the callers? Was it a concerted effort to provoke Malinowski to speak to the press? This isn't a survey or poll. It's an unverified report from one person, and the report is vague and nonspecific.
But, Ooo, it's FOREBODING!
Because it's a media hotpoint, it will be treated as a fact that Carlson is commandeering an army of pro-Russia barbarians who want Ukraines killed, with the remaining survivors subjected to persecution and minority status. And that's if there isn't major opposition, (and there will be) which will mean... more killing.
What it also means is that folks in executive positions will have to get the message across that Carlson's got to stop this nonsense whether he has a bloodthirsty following or not. It's getting too obvious that he can "interfere" with foreign policy and likely is. Someone will have to pay him a visit.
