(5,632 posts)38. 2008 was before we really started fielding the F35.
And studies like that tend to just compare airframe to airframe. A f35 is never going up against anything else by itself. The fact that the Russians can field a single squadron or parts of a squadron doesnt have more strategic implications.
AWACS, networking, support aircraft like fueling and electronic warfare all contribute to an overall air to air conflict; and our assets as a whole are unquestionably superior.
