I’m a former Mormon and do not have great feelings towards the church - that being said this article is click bate.

The plane was full of Kiribati citizens, mostly missionaries, who had been locked out of their country for over two years due to quarantine. The Kiribati government chose the conditions on allowing the plane back in, and no blame is on the church. Everyone citizen on the flight had a negative PCR test for each passenger on record before flight.
